Invitation to the Dance

Gene Kelly’s experimental dance film, An Invitation to the Dance (1956), will (finally!) be released on DVD Tuesday, March 15. Three other classical MGM film musicals will be released as well: Yolanda and the Thief (1945), Little Nettie Kelly (1940), and Thoroughbreds Don’t Cry (1937).

From what I can tell, the DVDs will only be available for purchase — at least initially — via the Warner Bros website.

Here’s the advertisement from Warner Bros, and below that is the original theatrical trailer for An Invitation to the Dance. Enjoy!
